Video («Antic» - premiere!) & performance («The Vinegar Path»)

Brian Catling is a sculptor, poet and performance artist. His recent narrative and installational videos have been shown in a number of countries. Last year he won the Paul Hamlyn Award for Visual Art, the largest prize for visual artists in the UK.
He is also a founder member of WOLF & THE WINTER; a 6 artist performance group that has been touring in Germany, Netherlands and Scotland. Next year they will make events in Greenland, Spain and London.
ANTIC is a new video work which will be premiered at trans-art.
It is the Norwegian version of a work that will be remade for solo shows in the UK and Japan.
Brian Catling is a regular visitor to Norway where he has had solo exhibition at the Museum for samtidskunst in Oslo, The Hordaland Kunstnersentrum and Galleri se. Over the last 25 years he has also been a visiting lecturer at schools and art academies in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim.
Brian Catling is also professor of Fine Art at the University of Oxford and a fellow of Linacre College.
